A. Hirugano Plateau is located at an altitude of 900 meters, and the average temperature is 7 to 8 degrees Celsius lower than that of urban areas such as Nagoya and Osaka (similar to Sapporo). During the day, temperatures can drop as low as -6 to -7 degrees Celsius, and at night, they can reach around -10 degrees Celsius. Long sleeves and jackets are necessary year-round, except for July and August. The best time for outdoor events like barbecues is from June to September. Otherwise, warm clothing is essential. In winter, temperatures can plummet to as low as -20 degrees Celsius, so it's important to use diesel fuel with antifreeze additives in diesel-powered vehicles. The leaves turn red in late October and early November, and the area is covered in snow from December to March. The artificial snow ski resort opens in mid-November.
A. Even if you don't have any driving issues, your car battery may be more prone to dying in winter. We recommend checking your battery fluid beforehand, if possible. Also, for diesel engine vehicles, please use light oil with antifreeze. (You can get it at gas stations in Shirotori-cho and Takasu-cho, Gujo City.) Every year, about 10 cars in our parking lot have issues due to frozen diesel fuel. Incidentally, there is an Idemitsu gas station next to our lodge (open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM). In addition, from December to March, carrying tire chains or using studded tires is required.
A. We apologize for any inconvenience, but fireworks are strictly prohibited on our premises. Please be considerate of our neighbors by avoiding noise or smoke.
A. You can usually spot them at the hotel starting late June through late July. Mid-July is the peak season, and on clear nights between 7 and 9 PM, you might even see them right here on the property. You'll also hear Japanese bush warblers, common cuckoos, and great spotted cuckoos singing from May to October. The great spotted cuckoo usually starts singing around late May.
A. The front desk is located on the first floor. Please leave your luggage in your car and head straight to the front desk. We'll show you to your villa and parking spot when you check in.
A. We have already prepared the futon bedding for you.
If you would like to use a larger sleeping area, we can arrange the futon bedding for you.
In that case, please make your bed yourself.

A. An awning is provided for your use, even in rainy weather. However, we cannot guarantee its use in severe weather conditions such as typhoons, heavy rain, or strong winds. Please also refrain from cooking foods such as garlic and seafood that may leave a lingering smell, even when using the built-in grill. For those who have ordered a BBQ food set, please refer to a separate section.
A. We do not charge a cancellation fee for BBQ equipment rentals. Unfortunately, we cannot hold BBQs in bad weather. We recommend changing your reservation to a hot pot meal (sukiyaki or shabu-shabu) that can be prepared indoors. If bad weather is forecast, we will call you to confirm your reservation.
