As one of Japan's three major Bon dance towns, the summer festivities are truly something to behold, with colorful lanterns, decorative noren curtains, and the rhythmic sound of geta. Bon Odori festival in Gujo Hachiman is held from July to August.

Gujō-Hachiman is famous all over Japan as the town of Bon dance. Unlike watching the Awa Odori, here you're part of the fun! We dance for 30 days a year, and for four nights straight during Obon, the party never stops until Dawn. Live music and the sound of geta create a truly unique atmosphere. You might wonder, "How can they dance so much?" Well, this is Japan's best place to wear a yukata and geta. Let's put on a yukata and join the night dance!

During the Gujo Odori period, we offer extra options like yukata rental and dance lessons.

8月13日～16日は徹夜で踊り明かします。

The Bon Odori festival in Gujo Hachiman takes place over a period of 30 days from mid-July to early September. Please refer to this link for the period of the festival.
During the festival, we will be offering special optional programs including dressing, dance practice and Bon Odori experience. Prices range from 15,000 to 25,000 yen per person, and are limited to 15 people per day. Come and enjoy the hottest night in Japan.

Gujo Hachiman Castle is a stunning mountaintop fortress offering breathtaking views of the town. To get there, you'll need to drive up a winding, uphill road. If you're not a confident driver, a taxi is a good option, or you can park at the mid-level parking lot and enjoy a pleasant 10-minute walk. This castle, the oldest wooden reconstruction in Japan, is a must-see year-round, but the spring cherry blossoms and autumn foliage create especially magical atmospheres.
